Created to Create
Social Innovation Creators' Academia (SICA) is an innovative student platform under the Yonsei Center for Social Innovation (YCSI) that acts as an engine for fostering social innovators and changemakers.
SICA defines social innovators as those “who are able to develop creative ideas that are humanistic, global and innovative.” SICA aims to support students with appropriate financial subsidies, provide network connections and practicle knowledge to initiate sustainable and innovative projects - devise startup business models and provide consulting for social enterprises.
What does SICA do?
SICA holds General Sessions once a week every Wednesday where students gather to learn, discuss, and do team projects - either a startup business model or pro bono consulting to social enterprises. SICA members learn how to find solutions for social issues that require change through creative ideas and design thinking.
SICA holds hackathon workshops every semester, where students can meet others with similar interests and form collaborative networks. SICA members also travel abroad and get opportunities to meet social innovators around the world.
