Grandmothers and single mothers, many of whom have never learned to read or write, are among those being trained under the programme that could transform their lives in their poor fishing and farming communities. They are being trained as community solar engineers and providing light to rural villages in Tanzania. This ensures gain of stable status and income after the training. In addition, this programme provides better life quality to whole villagers in the region as well as providing chance for women to participate in the societal activities.
